If you want to make an ophthalmology consultation, you must book an appointment through our support line 923 400 300, on working days from 8 am to 6 pm and on Saturdays from 8 am to 1 pm.

In case you want to schedule a consultation for Optometry or Contactology, it is not necessary to make an appointment, the service is done on a first-come, first-served basis. We always advise you to go in the morning.

In the case of Optometry, Contactology or Audiology it is not necessary to make an appointment, the attendance is done on a first-come, first-served basis. We always advise you to go in the morning.

The prescription lenses are cut to the size and shape of the frame, so they do not fit into other frames. It is usually not possible to change the frame and maintain the lenses, we advise you to visit our store where you can receive information about the best solution for your case.

The cost of the lenses varies according to the shape and size of the frame, the brand of lenses selected, with the parameters and treatment that is necessary for each case. In case you do not buy the prescription glasses right after the consultation, the prescription will have a maximum validity of 6 months, after that it is advisable not to make the glasses for the old prescription and make a new appointment to get the prescription updated. Routine vision consultations should be carried out once a year, and only in the consultation will the specialist be able to confirm that the parameters of your eyes are the same.

In adulthood, the optometry exam should be performed at least every two years. However, your Optometrist may advise you to do more regular surveillance.

Later, at 40-50 years old, when presbyopia occurs and we are unable to focus within a short distance, we should always go to an ophthalmology consultation to start screening for glaucoma.

At older ages, an annual observation by the ophthalmologist is recommended for screening for cataracts, glaucoma and macular degeneration of age.

In Centrooptico® stores, we have cleaning sprays available for purchase alternatively, you can wash with normal water or use neutral soap (handwashing soap). It is important that you do not use any abrasive products as this may damage your lenses. Cleaning should be done with a clean cloth (Microfiber) alternatively, you can use soft paper (for example toilet paper).

The Pediatric Optometry consultations are held from the age of 5, and in certain situations may be referred to Ophthalmology. In children under the age of 5, only pediatric ophthalmology consultations are held.

The first eye exams should be done by the developmental paediatrician when they are born and at 6 months. The first ophthalmology consultation should be done until 3 or 4 years old, in order to detect defects that may go unnoticed.

Subsequently, a routine consultation should be carried out every 2 years, if the child does not have major problems. Children with myopia or other visual problems should be seen every year. However, your Optometrist may advise you to do more regular surveillance.

In the Audiology consultation, the specialist diagnoses and treats any loss of hearing and related disorders, providing recommendations regarding options that can help (for example, hearing aids, cochlear implants, appropriate medical referral).

During the consultation, we assess whether a hearing loss or vestibular anomaly is present, performing hearing tests to determine if you are listening within the normal range and, if not, what parts of the hearing (high, medium or low frequencies) are affected, to what degree and where the injury causing the loss of hearing is (outer ear, middle ear, inner ear, auditory nerve and/or central nervous system).

The Audiology and Otolaryngology consultations deal with possible hearing problems, but they are different specialities.

Audiology specialists diagnose and treat people with hearing loss and related disorders.

Evaluates whether a hearing loss or vestibular anomaly is present, providing recommendations such as for

example, the use of hearing aids or cochlear implants, or appropriate medical referral). This discipline also has a preventive function of giving useful advice so that we can take care of the capacity to listen optimally over time.

Otorhinolaryngology aims to study and treat diseases of the ear, nose and throat. The evaluation of the Otorhinolaryngologist, also called an ENT specialist, is very important for the correct diagnosis and treatment.
